Milky is an 8-year-old, neutered Jack Russell terrier with a great character and who has been a much-loved companion in her original home.
She is a bit of a worrier, especially in new situations, but with time and patience in her foster home, she is gradually building her confidence and learning to enjoy new activities.
Overall, she’s a fabulous little dog who needs an owner who’ll be patient and reassuring whilst working on reducing anxiety triggers.
We are looking for a fairly quiet, but active forever home in which Milky will be encouraged to keep on exploring new experiences – we think she might even enjoy a bit of agility!
Milky is your typical Jack Russell terrier, so expect some typical feisty Jack Russell behaviour eg she can be stubborn, and barks at noises outside / people coming to the house (she makes a small but good guard dog!)
Careful introductions are needed when new people come to the house (particularly men, although she soon decides she loves them).
She is generally unfazed by other dogs out and about, although she dislikes dogs who suddenly invade her space and may react with a bark or lunge. We would be prepared to explore whether she could live with another laid back dog.
Usually good on the lead unless she’s anxious (when she may try to bolt or refuse to move – but she’s making good progress at reducing this): otherwise, she’s a lovely walking companion, especially in the countryside (woods, by the river).
Can be left for reasonable periods: 3-4 hours
Fine in the car
Easy to have around the house
Affectionate, enjoys sitting on or next to people in the room, but also happy to be on her own.
No to cats
Hasn’t lived with children, but maybe OK with teens
