Jasper has been returned to ADIN following adoption 9 months ago after the resident dog started taking exception to him being in the home.
He is an energetic and affectionate 9 year old chocolate working cocker spaniel who can come across as being quite anxious.
This is sometimes expressed in guarding behaviours, which are managed by following he protocols put in place by the behaviourist. He is initially strong on the lead, but is responding to training in this respect, and has a tendency to scavenge both inside and outside the home (he’s been known to eat tissues, socks, underwear and tea-towels!).
He has lived with other dogs in his previous homes, but would also be happy as an only dog.
His recall is very good, and he has been trained to a whistle. He is sensitive to being touched on his feet.
– Good with other dogs
– great at travelling
– Good recall and general obedience
Unknown with cats
– no to children due to his tendency to snatch food / guarding behaviour that needs to be managed
– Strong on the lead
Please email email@example.com if you feel you could offer Jasper the home he needs
